WRITING

A writer of screenplays, fiction, poetry and essays, I followed up a childhood in Montana with a degree from UC Berkeley and internships at 10-Speed Press and San Francisco Magazine. Traveling abroad in the early 2000’s, I wrote a collection of short stories, blogs and travel essays from Egypt, India, Israel, Nepal, France, Ireland, Brazil and Spain before settling in New York City to work in music law and launch a textile company, CLOAKE. After a decade in the city, I moved upstate to Hudson, NY, returning my focus to writing and photography and doing a very Irish thing — helping to open bars.

On a writing sojourn to Connemara, Ireland, I came across Irish legend, Gráinne Ní Mháille (GRANUAILE) -- a 16th-century female sea-pirate. Years of research, returns, and harsh Irish winters later, I shaped folklore and fact into an original screenplay & series, GRANUAILE, Pirate Queen — currently being shopped & repped.

(In 2021 Granuaile’s pilot episode won a finalist position in ScreenCraft’s Writer-Fellowship Competition; and in 2022 the project was a semi-finalist in Creative Screenwriting’s Unique Voices).

"That single square of halted cinema."

I have taken pictures since I could hold my father's Canon AE-1 film camera. My current projects focus on immersive nature, sometimes entwining nature and humans. My past work includes photography for music videos, theater and other visual artists, food, architecture, travel, journalism, documentary and client (web) content. My subject matter ranges from farm animals to fashion to furniture, seascapes and landscapes.

My work tends to seek out the abstract or unique, often telling a story.

REWILDING & REGENERATIVE RESEARCH.

libations

It is difficult to not be seduced into meddling with spirits and foraged ingredients!

I have stirred herbs, spirits, syrups and citrus into creative cocktails for the past two decades, co-helming bars in NYC and Hudson, NY.

I enjoy collaborating with chefs, restaurants, and event planners, utilizing local ingredients and farm-stilled spirits to create something special.

I also provide drink photography, short videos and social media content.
